Tombeau de L'empereur Napoléon Ier 1769/1821, premier consul 1799/1804, empereur des Français 1804/1814 et lors des cents jours, mort et inhumé sur l'île de Sainte Hélène en 1821, transférés aux Invalides en 1840, Louis Philippe roi des Français commande à l'architecte Visconti en 1842 la construction de la crypte du dome des Invalides et du sarcophage, le corps de l'empereur y est transféré en 1861.
