Jean Jaurès 1859/1914 homme politique français fondateur du journal l'humanité en 1904, fondateur de la SFIO ancêtre du parti socialiste actuel, farouchement opposé à la guerre, il est assassiné par Raoul Villain au café du Croissant, rue Montmartre à Paris, alors qu'il lançait une nouvelle campagne contre la future Première Guerre mondiale qui se profilait, il fut transféré au Pantheon le 23 novembre 1924 sur décision du gouvernement du cartel des gauches.
